None of the 485 team members at McWane’s Tyler Xian Xian (TXX) facility in China have been infected with the Corona Virus, however that facility and their normal daily lives are being affected by the strict preventative measures being taken.

Schools & stores remain closed, masks are required in public. Identifications and temperatures are checked before being allowed to enter a grocery store, bank or any of the few public locations that are open for business.

After a 3-week government mandated shutdown, 360 of our 485 TXX team members that have been screened by local authorities are just now being allowed to return to work.  They are only allowed to travel directly from their home to TXX and are required to carry a special permit.  While at TXX, their temperatures are taken three times per day, with the results recorded & provided to local authorities.

TXX is operating under strict disease control procedures that have been reviewed and approved by the government.  Each day, authorities come to the facility to ensure that the procedures are being followed.  In addition, there are two inspectors at TXX 24hrs/day.

According TXX’s plant manager, Fengqi Zhang, it will probably be several more weeks before team members who live in areas with known Corona cases, or who traveled outside the local area during the recent Chinese New Year holiday period will be allowed to return to work.  Fengqi said, “TXX is being fully compliant with all government requirements & restrictions and we are doing everything possible to keep our employees safe”.
