Clow Valve sponsored the Mahaska County Sweet Corn Serenade, which celebrated its 39th year on July 23. The annual community event transformed Oskaloosa’s City Square Park into a daylong celebration featuring a craft and vendor fair, food trucks, live entertainment and family-friendly activities.

Guests enjoyed the traditional meal of grilled hamburgers, fresh sweet corn and drinks, served by volunteers, with additional treats at tents throughout the park.

Families took part in activities throughout the day, including a petting zoo, face painting, the Iowa Corn trailer, the Ohana Pedal Pull and more.

New attractions this year included Corn Cob Bob — the towering ear of corn whose costume was painted with help from Clow Valve — as well as line dancing, a cornhole tournament and a corn-themed Bucket Battle.

Live music from The Boys Duo and the Oskaloosa City Band rounded out the celebration.

The event drew praise from community members for its food, entertainment and family-friendly atmosphere, reflecting the strong community spirit that Clow Valve is proud to support through local partnerships.
