Calhoun County fourth graders once again had the opportunity to further their knowledge in subjects taught in the classroom, in an outdoor environment. Recycling, conserving energy, keeping our water safe and our air clean were just a few of the topics covered in this year's Earth Day celebration.

Special thanks to Renea McGathy for coordinating presentations on the recycling process at Tyler Union. Renea was quoted in an article that appeared in the Anniston Star, “I volunteer through my employer, Tyler Union, each year and enjoy helping stage the event and interacting with the children. We see it as a way to invest in the younger generation in our area.”

Renea is the Environmental Assistant at Tyler Union in Anniston, Alabama.
