Maggie Goldman has worked for Clow Valve in Oskaloosa, Iowa for 8-10 years, but she lives in a very small town where kids have very few things that they can do for fun.  Looking for a way to change this, she and a friend decided to start the Delta Kids Club.  Maggie asked Clow for a donation for some specific items and they were happy to help out.

Maggie reported that since their first meeting in April, they have had great participation and they are meeting twice a month – one fun meeting where they plan a community service project and a second meeting to complete the planned project.

So far the kids held a spring clean-up in the yard of a local church, “Random Acts of Sweetness” where they made, packaged and randomly distributed treats throughout town and assisted with the flags used for veterans’ grave sites over Memorial Day weekend at three local cemeteries.

Donations made to the Club help buy supplies that they use to complete the community service projects and perhaps a few crafts for Mother’s and Father’s Day presents.  Currently, five of the “Delta Kids” have parents that work at Clow Valve.

With Maggie’s determination and energy we are sure the Delta Kids Club will help a lot of kids find worthwhile ways to make a difference in the community while having fun.

Great job Maggie!
